Pat Banks, the talent behind Dari Laut Bears, is not just a gifted bear artist, she also has a lovely personality which must be infectious because all her creations have a definite feelgood quality about them. She makes traditional and character one-of-a-kind bears and animals, and has won awards for some of her beautifully costumed bears including Alice in Wonderland and a Chelsea Pensioner.

The Doctor At my request, Pat Banks made ‘The Doctor’ as a tribute to David Tennant’s wonderful portrayal of the country’s favourite time traveller. This super character bear can stand alone and measures 17.5 inches tall. He is made from Schulte mohair with suede paws, and has wired arms and legs so he can pose. His eyes are black glass with white suede behind to help enhance his character, and he has a needle sculptured face. His joints are nut and bolt joint and he is filled with polyester and steel shot (in bags in his tummy and feet). His wig, which is made from Schulte mohair and silk lined with net, can be removed.   . All his clothing was meticulously hand made by Pat, and the suit jacket and overcoat are lined and tailored. In case of emergencies, he carries a sonic screwdriver.   SOLD
